  7. Diameter:        14.7cm
  8.      This piece is made 
  9. from  a  section  of  the 
  10. bamboo  stem  which  is 
  11. hollow and tubular with a
  12. node at its base, and thus
  13. very suitable to be used
  14. as   brush-holder.   The 
  15. outside wall is delicately
  16. carved with flowers and 
  17. female  figures.   The
  18. carver's name "San-sung" 
  19. is inscribed below the 
  20. decoration.  Chu San-sung
  21. was  a  famous  late-Ming
  22. bamboo   carver  from 
  23. Chiating.
